Taste of the NFL
Date for the 2010 Cincinnati Bengals Taste of the NFL is June 16th!
Wednesday June 16th, 2010 6:30-9:30
Brown Statium West Club Lounge
The Cincinnati Bengals Taste of the NFL Celebrity Dinner is modeled after the National Taste of the NFL that takes place before the Super Bowl each year. This year promises to be a dynamic event filled with fun, food and what really matters, helping to end hunger in our community. The event gives attendees the opportunity to sample hors d' oeuvre style fare, bite size signature dishes, signature drinks and signature desserts. There is a silent auction featuring high quality, sometimes rare items as well as a unique raffle. During the evening the entire Cincinnati Bengals team and organization mix and mingle, sign autographs and help participating restaurants serve interested guests.
Tickets are still availble at the door starting at 5:30 at Paul Brown Stadium's West Club Lounge.

rubber duck regatta
This past Labor Day weekend, the Freestore Foodbank dropped a record-breaking 100,000 rubber ducks into the Ohio River for the 15th annual running of the Rubber Duck Regatta. The event finally achieved the ambitious $500,000 goal (nearly $550,000, in fact) that our RDR “Founding Father” Bob Edwards set for us a few years ago. $550,000 is equivalent to 2.2 million meals to feed hungry men, women and children throughout the Tri-state.
We are grateful for the support of a generous community that has made this event the largest of its kind in the world. Although the duck race itself takes only about 20 minutes from the time the ducks are poured into the river to the time they reach the finish line, the Rubber Duck Regatta is a year-long endeavor requiring the devotion of hundreds of volunteers, dozens of generous sponsors, thousands of donors who purchase ducks, and countless hours of planning and follow-up on the part of Freestore Foodbank staff. But, of course, the most important people of all are those of our neighbors who benefit from all this work and generosity. On behalf of them, we thank all of you.
This year’s winning duck belonged to Carolyn Koch of West Harrison, IN. Carolyn’s prize was a 2010 Honda Insight, courtesy of the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Honda dealers. Winners of National City savings bonds were
Susah Heuser, Warsaw, KY
